Last week in Makati...

Saleswoman in a decent blazer and pencil skirt walks in and disturbs me from my newspaper-reading.


Saleswoman: (Trying hard with her english) Hmm, good afternoon ma'am! I would, hmm, like to.. show you this, our very new product. See ma'am (hands brochure), our photo album is P155 each, but since this week we have a promo, you can have 3 photo albums for P299 only!

But ma'am, the product is not yet available so.. But you can order and we will deliver it to you for free. Would you like to avail our promo, ma'am?

Me: Ayyy, hindi po.. Salamat na lang, ate.

Saleswoman: (astonished look) Ayyy ma'am! Nagtatagalog ka pala! (Bisaya accent kicks in) Naku ma'am, hindi ka pure chinese??

Me: Hahaha! Hindi ate ah!

Saleswoman: Asus! Akala ko pure chinese ka! Kalahati man, hindi??

Me: Ewan ko nga ate, eh. Hehehe.

Saleswoman: Ayyy ganun.. Sige po, thank you.
